Dear Sponsors

The Covid Pandemic which has taken over the entire world is our theme for 2021: Hence arises our hash tag!!! Peplex Charity Anniversary will take place on 24th October 2021. In Celebrating our Anniversary on the 24/10/2021 we would to extend a humble appeal to our kind sponsors. Our theme this year is #COVIDWILLNOTSTOP0URWORK and we are looking to raise funds for hampers and to assist 50 members with a percentage of there utility billing 🤝🏼 We can’t meet our goal without the help of people/companies like you/yours. That’s why Peplex Charity is reaching out to you. Would you Peplex Charity be able to help us accomplish goal, assist members of our community, save lives, etc.

Peytn and Lexus Pillay have been self-motivated with their parents assistance. They have been on their own Charity Drive for the past 6 Years Non -Registered until last Oct 2019.They were getting inundated with calls from businesses wanting to assist their cause as young little 'Pillay Pillars' so we decided to help them help the community and Registered the NPC (2019/537651/08) six years later. Prior to the above these little 'Pillars' started the above drive due to Sunford Primary School's teacher Mrs S.Govenders Sunford Indigent Club. The Club asked the kids of Sunford Primary to bring 'a can' to school for Diwali Hampers to be made in the month of October. Peytn and Lexus Pillay wanted to do more , so they came home and asked me for 1 can from home and also if they could collect extra from our neighbours and family to make hampers for the underprivileged.

Peytn and Lexus Pillay

I was taken aback by their gesture, and advise them that it should not be a problem if home chores are done, grades are kept up and if their swimming, soccer and Friday youths are not effected! They excitedly said yes! yes! yes! But I knew something would give sooner or later so Malcolm and I decided on few things like buying extra can food to put in their collection bags to motivate them, we decided to teach them to swim on there own time not school time so they not to tired for collections in the evenings and the money we saved for swimming fees went towards chips, chocolates nd pads towards their Charity Drives as most people did not donate them those items. We set a time for their collections in our complex of 300 units at Tashvirs Mansions, unit 9, Phoenix for 6:00pm to 7:30pm with either of us supervising their door to door collections so they get home bath, eat and whatch little television.

Made a collection book and something to say when they go door to door, as they were still very young. Most of all we sat and spoke to them about certain people whom would not be happy with them rocking up at there doorstep for food they don't even have, food that they themselves might need, people will ask for paperwork as to where the collections are going to because of the amount of fraud being committed or just the fact they don't want to give. We explained to them what they gonna endure once they there and advised them if negativity comes there way just say 'thank you & God Bless' and move to another door. The negativity was demotivating but that was the sacrifice if they wanted to feed a family in need.

So with their first collection they managed to make to big hampers and take into school before Diwali, and thereafter they went on their own to collected stock etc and in the interim they donated to the following places East Coast Radio Toy Drive with Zabaloicious, The Potters House and we joined other Charities like Feedy Needy to assist them to reach there goal. When the girls hit the Phoenix Tabloid thanks to the kind words of Miss Khanyisile, GNCR contacted us to congradulate on what a great job they have been doing and wanted to interview them for her show. After the papers and radio show the girls were getting so many calls to pick up donations like clothes, shoes, food, toys etc and manage to pledge to a drive every 3 months of collections.

As poorer communities continue to struggle in the wake of Covid-19, Feedy Needy steps in to assist many individuals that cannot support their families. 1 in 5 children face hunger every day, and 1 in 4 children around the world suffer from chronic malnutrition that stunts growth. The biggest reason children are hungry, around the world, is poverty.

Poverty often means children not only don’t have enough to eat, they don’t have access to basic necessities.

As the lock down eases, many still suffer from lack of necessities such as food, clothing and proper hygiene, as we have approached harsh weather conditions the spread of the Corona- virus increase rapidly. In our fight to combat Covid -19, we have to assist those that are vulnerable and susceptible to the virus, starvation and hunger weakens the immune system .Peplex Charity aims to alleviate poverty from all angles. A warm blanket, a hot meal, toiletries and groceries will help hundreds of vulnerable and disadvantaged families and individuals. We need your help.

We humbly appeal to all kind Samaritans to come on board and share your kindness, spread warmth and love , a little step forward and a helpful hand can change and even save a life. Someone, somewhere out there eagerly await a touch of kindness and a little hope.Be that light, be that angel, stretch out your helping hand, reach out now.! Be a part of the change! Let’s together make the difference today, as tomorrow is never promised. Peplex Charity Bringing Bright Smiles has touched the lives of many over the years and continue to assist daily.

Peplex Charity recently distributed juices , food hampers, cake flour, hot meals and sweet treats to many communities over the past week. We sincerely hope that we have made a difference in many homes and we pray for the well-being and safety of all those facing the Pandemic.
